An open source engineer is responsible for developing software in an open and collaborative manner. The position is remote and requires self-motivated passionate individuals that enjoy solving problems. It involves development focused on the quickly emerging ecosystem of containers, DevOps, and software infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute code to relevant projects
  • Collaborate in software architecture planning, and design
  • Communicate effectively in development teams and group settings
  • Discuss technology at social and community events such as meetups

Preferred experience:

  • Open source software contribution and collaboration processes
  • Usage of DevOps tools for automation and developer efficiency
  • Compiled languages as primary
  • Communicating and presenting problems and solutions

Preferred skillsets:

Github, Golang, C++, Vagrant, Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes
