Vite doesn't support AMD natively, only CommonJS and ESM.
Since ESM is the future, I went ahead and converted the package directly to ESM.
Given that ESM is a breaking change, I also updated the version to v2.0.0 as per SEMVER.
Choosing "Hide whitespaces` makes an easier review.
